I am going to be completely honest, I’m not a fan of math at all, but I did enjoy learning this and I think you will too. So this is a mathematical principle that applies to real life! Trust me, I was completely blown away too, and it isn’t even applying to time or money!
So this mathematical principle is about fractals. A fractal is a pattern or design that was created by intricate designs arranged in a pattern and the process is repeated over and over again to the point that you can’t even see the original details. It’s like when you use two mirrors facing each other and there is a never-ending hallway in the mirrors with you or whatever is in the mirror hallway, repeating over and over again.
When you look at the forest on the mountainside, it’s a fractal with individual trees, branches, leaves, etc. There is a lot of detail in a leaf, but you don’t see that when you’re looking at the mountainside, it sure makes a difference though.
Here is the real life application: one day doesn’t necessarily make a big difference when you look at your life. However what you do each day does. Just like the forest would be a completely different view without all the leaves, your life will be different depending on your daily habits.
Yeah, so it really isn’t a new idea, but you really do shape your life and the overall picture by the little details. Those details may not be too exciting, but it is a big deal. So how does this specifically apply to you? That depends on who you want to be and how you want your life to be. For me and any of you who want to be writers, you kinda need to be writing. Otherwise are you really a writer? Or a forest with no trees? If you want to be a good person, then you should be doing good things every day. If you want to be rich, you should be doing something everyday that is earning you money or saving you money.
I know that I don’t always like dealing with the little details, but keeping the bigger picture in mind always helps. Regardless of the tedious tasks, you are creating something wonderful, so keep at it! What details are you going to add to your day?
